
DirectX 11, like version 10, is supported by Windows Vista only, and will be compatible with all your DirectX 10/10.1 and previous software. The article also states that version 11 will add new features to version 10, but know one is sure what yet.
New features include tessellation -- a technology that can improve visual quality of lower quality models, a new shader technology that allows developers to use the GPU for things other than graphics... acting as another processor, among other less exciting things.
